Murmurtale Where it works
Murmurtale pastes your text into the app you are writing in — word processors, browsers, chat apps, notes, and code editors. In Scrivener, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages, and TextEdit it pastes plain text, so your document's own font, size, and first-line indent apply, then italicizes thoughts you tag (“she thought”) or mark out loud with “in italics”. Web and Electron editors work too, such as Google Docs, Notion, Slack, and the Claude app.
First-line indentIndents come from your word processor's paragraph style, not from Murmurtale. Set the first-line indent once in Scrivener, Word, or Google Docs.
Secure fields and passwords
macOS marks password boxes and similar inputs as secure fields, and Murmurtale pastes into them like any other field.
Type passwords by handMurmurtale does not yet detect or refuse secure fields on its own — a built-in guard is planned but not shipped. Until it is, dictate prose, and enter passwords and other secrets with the keyboard. Never dictate a credential.
Insertion timing
Text is inserted when you release the key, not word-by-word as you speak. The pill gives you live feedback (levels and word count) while you hold. Streaming text into the field as you talk is not part of the current release.
